Advice by Shipp
Many magazines and newspapers have a section where readers can write in
for advice about personal problems. The person who answers these letters is
often portrayed as a kindly, middle-aged woman, with a reassuring sort of name.
That’s why advice columnist Josh Shipp is so unusual – not only is he male,
he’s also only 29-years-old.
Josh has been compared to other TV advice experts such as Dr Phil, but
his target audience is very different. Through books, live appearances and on
his own TV show, Jump Shipp, Josh offers advice to troubled or confused
teeagers and 20-somethings. He is also available on the medium with which his
generation is so at home: the Internet. His website, heyjosh.com, is
accessed by thousands each day, and he may be reached on certain
social-networking sites, too. But it is not only the availability that
youngsters find so appealing, Josh offers sound advice with a large dose of
humour.
Josh has great empathy with the problems of the young. Abandoned at
birth by his biological parents, he grew up with a succession of foster
parents, some of whom treated him badly. As an abused teenager, he turned to
food for consolation and contemplated suicide. But he also began to use humour
to gain attention in class, and a sympathetic teacher noticed this. The teacher
saw that classmates listened to Josh while they were laughing, and encouraged
him to expand on his advice-giving. Josh believes that his own life story helps
young people to trust him, and shows them that they really do have control over
their own future.
In addition to reaching youngsters directly, Josh is now developing ways
of addressing adults in contact with young people, such as parents, teachers,
youth leaders and sports coaches. His company employs several people and makes
millions of dollars; today, a one-hour speech will earn Josh $5,000. Not bad
for a young man who started out with such disadvantages – and certainly an
inspiration to his audience.
The Josh’s story is incredible and an example of superation, is very exciting to see someone who has been abused by foster parents and he has got use his humour to leave this. He could suicide him but he went on with his life and now he is triumphing.
ResponderEliminarBesides, he not only has helped himself, but also he helps a large amount of teenagers who are confused or have any problem, this is very helpful for our society, because people like Josh make the life a little bit easier. However the Josh’s work doesn’t end in there, now he want to begin a new project, he want to help adults in order to achieve that they have a correct behavior with teenagers.
It’s true that Josh earn a lot of money with this nevertheless he helps a lot of people and he doesn’t care about the type of problem or the person who tell him his problem, and this is very comfortable for people who ask him for advice.
The Josh's story is very interesting, because of he talk his childhood where he had been abandoned for his parents to birth, he was adopted for different parents and he wanted to be suicide during adolescence, but Josh isn't a simple guy, he knew face his destiny. It's a really touching story.
ResponderEliminarThanks his story, he has created a page of Internet where he help to everyone. Some teenagers surf to this page in order to finish their problems with the family or friends. Josh does this with a bit of humour.
However, I think that these teenagers should solve their own problems, because today they depend of Josh, but when he doesn't stay on the world, they won't be helped. So, Josh should teach to audience that all things have to be seen with humour and he only can show his story, but from this story, the teenagers must be self-sufficient to solve their problems.
Josh's history is incredible and admirable. It is amazing that a boy who has been left and abused by his parents has gone out of all that with so many happiness and humor. It was difficult for Josh to go out, but he decided to take it calmly and with humor and once being completely rehabilitated, he has it decided to help other young persons who are happening for the same thing that himself. Only with 29 years, Josh is helping million persons, teenager’s as well as parents, to be able to overcome as so much what they are suffering and overcoat, teaches them that its better to take the life with humor, since if one is pessimistic, you will not come to any site.

Confronting an experience that he has been abandoned at birth by his biological parents and grew up with foster parents who treated him badly, he tried several times to suicide himself and to be crapulent. However, with the help by his teacher, he finally overcame such disadvantages. He started to face his problems using humour, and continued offering advice to teenagers and young people who have personal problems with their life, making them get over these difficulties which they are suffering. Moreover, he is now delivering speeches to people, earning a lot of money.
