Hard Work in Hollywood! - Write a text about it (100-150 words)

Hard Work in Hollywood!
Hollywood stars are the envy of many. They have wealth, glamour and a luxurious lifestyle, which all appear to have been acquired effortlessly. Their job is not difficult, some people think, so why are they so well-rewarded? But the life of a working actor or actress is far from easy.
Sometimes, for example, stars have to alter their body shape for the sake of a role. Tom Hanks gained 23 kilos for the start of the film Castaway, but by the end of the film, his character was supposed to be painfully thin. Production was actually stopped so that he could lose the weight. Renee Zellweger also famously gained weight to play Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones’s Diary. The actress then shed the excess weight for her role as Roxy in Chicago, but had to regain the 13 or so kilos for the sequel to Bridget Jones – Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
At other times, stars undergo a change in their lifestyle. Daniel Day Lewis lived for several months in the wilderness, eating only what he could hunt and fish, before he started filming The Last of the Mohicans. Catherine Zeta-Jones, in contrast, prepared for her role as a waitress in No Reservations by working in a restaurant. She had difficulty remembering the menu, and found the work hard, but this gave her great admiration for the waiters and kitchen staff.  She was also surprised at how unobservant the diners were, and noted that it took a long time for them to notice the waitress’s supposed “resemblance” to the actress!
And sometimes actors and actresses have to learn unusual skills for their roles. Matt Damon mastered the game of golf for Bagger Vance, but cracked a rib doing so. This made filming the golf scenes in the film very painful. And for The Brothers Bloom, Rachel Weisz, who could not even shuffle a deck of cards, learned how to perform complicated card tricks.

In addition, of course, stars have to learn their lines and convince us that they are really the character they are portraying. They put in long hours, often on location far away from their families. With all this hard work, haven’t they actually earned the many rewards they enjoy?

  1. To be an actor is something very difficult, you have to do a lot of things in order to do well your job, however everybody think that is an easy work because actors go to parties and other events. An actor sometimes has to change his physical aspect to do a character or in addition he or she has to live in extreme places, It depends on the film.
Because of this I think that the actors are very good paid, they have to do a lot of things which maybe can be considerated things of an extreme and dangerous job. Is true that actors make a very good job and I think, personally that the amount of money that they earn is very fair.
In conclusion, actors do a very hard work which is recongnised in the amount of money that they earn.

  2. Of course, the actors have to do things very difficult for they, because the viewer must believe that this actor is the real character of the film. They have a great merit when they lose and win weight for make a film. Although, I think that money won by the actors is very excessive, because they win such as millions dollars, while the producers or responsible of special effects charge the half of actors and third of directors. Moreover, the actors and directors are better treated than producers or other lower works.
So, it is clear that the actors do things worthy of praise, but, today, a film without special effects or dietitians in order to transform to actor as them character, the films would have so successful. I respect all actors, but I believe that a film is a work of all workers that have worked in it.

  3. To be an actor is a complicated job although the people think that it is not so. This job carries to change the aspect, the lifestyle and to move away, and even to put your life in a risk (in some cases). They are being paid are very high salaries; I understand that they have to do many things, but I believe that they receive too much money. I believe that there are other jobs as for example the firemen, which saves persons and risk their lives and they should earn more money. With this I want to say that the salary that an actor gains is excessive, since nowadays, the merit of the majorities of the movies not only is from the actors, its from the creators of the special effects who give so many life to the movies.

  4. To be an actor or an actress is a job as any other; it implies dedication and effort as well as sacrifice.
Nonetheless, what could make this job special and worthy of appreciation is the fact that it involves people who get it. Consequently, actors don’t work only during their workday, they are expected to be who they should be always and therefore, get completely involved in their role model as someone influential.
For the great majority of people it would be fantastic to be famous and glamorous, and what is more, to be invited to many important events and luxury parties. But there is also reason to believe that it would be really difficult for most of us to bear this busy lifestyle. Don’t we all enjoy privacy?

  5. Being actirz or actor is a complicated job just another, but they are rewarded more than the rest.
It’s true that they alter their body for performe the role that has been granted, but there not workers who are hours and hours in the sun working and are not rewarded like them? However, I know that to get there you must pass through a number of changes to be prepared to belong to that world. Is true that they can make good movies, you can admire them, many times they are the ones that entertain us through his films, but I think they should not be rewarded in this way why so exaggerated.
