All in the Family
Talent seems to run in certain show business families. There are
numerous pairs of famous siblings: Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher and
sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue, to name but two. Talent also seems to exist
across generations, as in the case of singers Julio Iglesias and his sons,
Enrique and Julio Jr, or actors Martin and Charlie Sheen.
The facts are undeniable, but the obvious question is: are the people in
these families really more talented, or do they just get more opportunities to
prove themselves? Although it is impossible to settle the nature versus nurture
debate definitely, there is plenty of reason to suppose that the first
explanation is true. This argument gains strength since famous entertainment
personalities often marry others in the field. Isn’t it likely that actress
Kate Hudson, for example, inherited talent from her actress mother, Goldie
Hawn, or from her father, musician William Hudson? The evidence seems even stronger
when considering families with many famous members such as the Jacksons, who
sang together before several of the children, including Michael and Janet, went
on to brilliant solo careers.
However, it is also true that some members of famous families get opportunities
to break into show business that other people often do not. These opportunities
may be offered to the children of the famous, who can start their careers at a
young age. Singer Lily Allen appeared in a television comedy co-written by her
father when she was only three; Sean Lennon joined mother Yoko Ono in a video
at age five and Miley Cyrus started her acting career at nine, soon after which
she was given a role in her father’s television series. Even siblings of the
famous may get special opportunities: because Nick Jonas already had a solo
career, music industry gurus were willing to listen to his brothers, Kevin and
Joe, leading to the creation of the Jonas Brothers group.
It’s impossible to decide whether heredity or environment is more important
in developing star clans. But meanwhile, we can certainly hope for great things
for the children of, say, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (herself the daughter of
actor Jon Voight) or those of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas (son of
actor Kirk).
How many times have we heard that the children of some actor will be famous in the future? This say, because it's true. These children have got a life resolved, they don't have to concern for their studies, lifestyle, economic problems...
ResponderEliminarPersonally, I think that these children are born to be Hollywood stars or they follow the same way that their parents. Althought they won't be good actors or singers, they don't live concerned, bacause thanks their parents, they may be famous anyway.
On the other hand, I don't doubt that child of simple families can be stars of the cinema. But these children are hard to be famous because their parents are not. But, if they get to be famous, their child will be child stars.
Finally, I think that anyone can be famous, bacause everyone has enough talent, in some ranges or others, to be a remarkable person in society.
Today there are a lot of famous families which are talented in music or cinema, however maybe to be the son or the daughter of a singer or an actor is better in order to get an opportunity.
ResponderEliminarThis, doesn’t mean that nobody whose parents are famous singers or actors is not talented, in fact there is a lot of but also there is a group of famous people who have had more opportunities because of to be daughter or son of an another famous person. Nevertheless other question makes me think, Is good to allow children to be famous being so young? The famous’ life is very hard and difficult, and this is not a good childhood for children who have to play games and run and to be innocents.
Maybe to be relative of a famous person is a good opportunity, but it’s correct to think that children have to have this opportunity too or it’s better to allow that children have a normal childhood?
We live in a world where a 10 year-old child has more money and a future job that an adult person with many years of experience, and these children are the children of the famous ones. I cannot manage to deal that a child can have a fixed job without having studied. There will be children, that even being children of famous parents, in a future will study and will have his well-deserved job, but there will be another enormous quantity of children, which only why being children of celebrities they will have a good and well remunerated job, job which thousands of persons were waiting for, a position which will give them a possibility for eating, thing that this child will never lack. I think that this should be something critical enough and that the companies should hire the people for his experience, not for his surnames.
ResponderEliminarWe have to admit that's true a lot of children of celebrities are famous, but why? Because they are more talented than others? o just because they get more opportunities to prove themselves?
ResponderEliminarIn my opinion, they became famous because of their well-known parents. If they grew up in an ordinary family, they are ordinary children. Just because of their parents, they have more facility to be famous, since their advantages have been highlighted. In fact, many of them are not celebrated by their talent, but by their infamy. For instance, Paris Hilton, is notorious. Critics and admirers have said that Hilton is famous for being famous, exemplifying the celebutante: a celebrity not through talent or work, but through inherited wealth and lifestyle.
However, we can’t say that children of ordinary families can’t be stars. If they get to be famous, they certainly tried muy hard.
